Jiro started his 5th season as a PGA Professional at Sportsman’s Country Club. He turned professional October of 2006 shooting a 72 (even par) on his final round in the player ability test conducted by the PGA of America.

Graduating from Illinois State University with a psychology degree, Jiro worked at the Maryville Golf Academy as a job coach. He taught underprivileged children the beauty of life through the game of golf. “There are many life lessons that can be taught to children through golf.” Says Jiro. He strongly believes that volunteering his time to give back to the community is a big part of his responsibility as a PGA golf professional.

As a very passionate teacher, Jiro took on many leading roles for the adult and junior clinics and taught over 200 private lessons in 2009. He believes that every golfer has their own unique golf swing that fits them. Stressing the importance of the fundamentals, Jiro works on building a golf swing that is consistent with the player’s goals, physical abilities, and body type. In Jiro’s opinion many high handicappers skip the fundamentals and never develop a solid foundation for their golf swing.

Jiro is a personal golf instructor to JLPGA Tour Player, Noriko Nakazaki. Noriko is a former University of Notre Dame Women’s Golf Team Captain who is the school record holder in career stroke average. While maintaining her spot on the JLPGA Tour, Noriko marks six professional golf tournament wins worldwide. Jiro credits Noriko’s success to her good practice habits, hard work, and her ability to have fun with the game.

Jiro loves every aspect of the game of golf and would like to share his experience and knowledge with you. His mission is to help all of his students achieve their individual goals whether they are beginners or an advance player. Jiro will identify the factors in your golf swing or game that is preventing you from playing your best golf. “I guarantee you will become a better player and enjoy the game even more. “

Why should you take golf lessons? Ask Jiro’s all time favorite player Ben Hogan:

“It really cuts me up to watch some golfer sweating over his shots on the practice tee, throwing away his energy to no constructive purpose, nine times out of ten doing the same thing wrong he did years and years back when he first took up golf… If he stands out there on the practice tee till he’s 90, he’s not going to improve. He’s going to get worse and worse because he’s going to get his bad habits more and more deeply ingrained.” (Ben Hogan, 1957)
