The North Suburban Junior Travel League's (NSJTL) goal is to introduce your junior golfer to semi-competitive golf tournaments, and give them the experience necessary to one day compete on the more competitive Sportsman's Travel Team.  In addition the Travel league will also prepare your child for competitive high school golf tournaments.  Each team will provide a fun environment, a positive learning experience, and some wholesome competition for junior golfers.  The league consists of 5 teams from local park districts with in a 25 mile radius, that compete against each other on (5) par 3 courses and (3) 9 hole courses.  Tournaments will be held at Anetsberger, Carillon North, Glenview National 9, Golf Center Des Plaines, Nickol Knoll, Rob Roy, Sportsman's East 9, and Weber Park. 

Competitions will be held on Monday's, starting on Monday, June 15th with tee times ranging from 12-2:30 pm.  The season will conclude on Monday, August 3rd with the League Championship.  Each team will have 2 supervised practices per week at Anetsberger or Sportsman's.  Your child will receive professional coaching and instruction from, "Northbrook Golf Academy PGA Professionals", the best in the business.  Coaches will give your junior golfer an opportunity to improve, and develop their fundamental golf skills.  They will learn every aspect of the game from; full swing, short game, course management, effective practice tips, and everything in between.

Eligibility for travel team participation is open to boys and girls going into 5th through 9th grades.  Tryouts for the Travel Team will be held on Friday, May 29th and Saturday, May 30th with the first round on the East 9, and the second round at Anetsberger Golf Course.  The top half of the participants based on score will earn the privilege to play on the Sportsman's team, and everyone else will earn a spot to play on the Anetsberger team.  The fee to tryout is $25, and registration forms will be available at Anetsberger and Sportsman's golf shops.

After making the team your child is expected to enroll in the Northbrook Golf Academy's Junior Development Program or take private lessons from one of the Northbrook Golf Academy instructors.  We want our young players to maintain a competitive edge and develop as players and individuals.  

Participation includes the following:

  • All Green fees and Entry fees for Monday Tournaments
  • (2) team practices per week at Sportsman's or Anetsberger
  • Weekly team practice round greens fees, weekly practice balls, and coaching fees
  • (24) Practice Buckets at Sportsman's Practice Range
  • (3) Additional Rounds for Anetsberger G.C.
  • (2) Additional Rounds for Sportsman's East 9
  • A team shirt, cap, and a golf bag for use during the travel season
  •  A Titleist Performance Institute Golf Specific Screening, and your child will receive a Golf Specific Exercise Program based on their results from Mark Tolle "Owner of Golf Fitness Chicago"
  • Season ending Team Party, and Intra-Team Tournament on Monday, August 10th (Anetsberger and Sportsman's)
  • A Childhood full of fun memories

Golfers are responsible for arranging transportation to events, and carpooling is recommended.

Yearly Team Fees: $459 (Due on Friday, June 5th)
