Get Golf Ready

Designed in conjunction with the national Play Golf America Program, five lessons teach adults everything they need to know to step onto a golf course and play with confidence. Classes cover the basic golf skills and terms, including full swing with drivers and irons, chipping, pitching, putting, greenside bunker play, rules and etiquette. Instruction also covers the history of the game, dress code, equipment and use of each club. Most sessions include some time on the course. Loaner golf clubs are available by request. Students receive one additional free round at Anetsberger Golf Course. The first class meets at the Sportsman's Clubhouse.

Play Better Golf

Instruction focuses on the key setup fundamentals of posture, grip, aim, alignment, ball position and pre-shot routine, along with the swing fundamentals for driving, iron shots, pitching, chipping, greenside bunker play and putting. The last two sessions are on course at Sportsman's East 9. Students receive one additional free round on the Sportsman's East 9 Course. The first class meets at the North end of the Sportsman's Practice Range.

Full Swing (NEW)

Classes help beginners and average players hit the ball farther and more accurately with consistency.  Instruction covers the driver, fairway woods, hybrids and short, mid and long irons. The session begins with a review of setup fundamentals, including posture, grip, aim, alignment, ball position, pre-shot and post shot routine and then focuses on each player's in-swing fundamentals.  Students receive one additional free basket for practice at Sportsman's Practice Range. Classes meet at the North end of the Sportsman's Practice Range.

Short Game (NEW)

Learn the keys to improving putting, bunker play, chipping and pitching. The shots that always seem the simplest from 50 yards and in will have the greatest impact on your scores. Students receive one free additional round at Anetsberger Golf Course. Classes meet at the Anetsberger Short Game Practice Area.

Custom Clinics

Custom clinics can be designed for groups of 3-6 players.  Lesson plans from any of our clinics may be combined to create a custom curriculum designed to meet your scheduling needs.  Contact the Northbrook Golf Academy for details.  (847) 291-2351 ext. 2.

Private or semi-private lessons from our PGA Instructors are another great way to improve your game and your enjoyment of golf. PGA golf instruction is available daily. Adult Golf Leagues

Sportsman's Country Club hosts men's and women's leagues, nine and 18 hole, that are both social and competitive. The leagues typically play a 20-game season from early May through mid-September and welcome golfers who want to play at a set time. League presidents handle registration and scheduling.
