Are you tired of hearing your kids say, “I'm bored – there is nothing to do”?  Do you want your kids to get off the couch, and away from the TV and computer?

Golf will give your kids skills they need for the rest of their life.  Benefits include exercise, motor skill learning, and social skills that will last for a lifetime.

015.jpgThis exclusive league will provide your kids with a fun, safe, and supervised learning environment for them to play golf.  They will learn to play by the USGA rules, use proper etiquette, and gain a better appreciation for the game.  Most importantly your kids will be exposed to character building skills such as respect, courtesy, integrity, honesty, and sportsmanship.  Fun is mandatory in this league.

Junior Players Golf League Specifics:

Where: The league will meet at Anetsberger Golf Course

When: League members can play golf on Wednesdays and Fridays, with tee times starting at 9:30 am-1:30 pm and 3:30 pm-5:30 pm from June 13th-August 27th.

Games: Individual and group games will be offered, with an emphasis on having fun, learning in a semi-competitive environment.

Registration Benefits:

  • Players will receive a Junior League Hat, Bag Tag, Rules book, Junior Golf Journal, and two free rounds of golf with a full paying adult.
  • The league also includes a season ending party on August 15th
  • The top 24 point finishers will compete in the Anetsberger cup the week after the club championship.

Fees: The fee to join the league is $45 annually. After that, you pay only for the days that your child decides to play. The cost is $12 per day only the days you choose to play, which includes green fees and prizes.  Passing the par level class or testing out of the par level is required to join the league.  In addition your child then can register for the more advance classes in the Junior Golf Development Program to enhance their skills.

Spectators: We encourage parents, grandparents and siblings to come watch league play (don't forget to bring your camera!)

Equipment: Juniors should have their own set of clubs, balls and tees and are responsible for carrying or pulling their own bags. Push carts may be rented for $2.  All equipment is for sale in the golf shop.  For those who may find it difficult to purchase equipment, the Park District is involved in the NRPA Sticks for Kids program and can provide equipment for use.

Pairings:  You may set up your tee time for you and your friends up to two weeks in advance by calling the golf shop at 847-291-2971 between 8am and 6pm.

The Following are Test Dates to advance out of the Par Level and be eligible to register in the Birdie Silver Level.  This is for children who have had previous instruction and know the basics (rules, etiquette, equipment, putting, chipping, pitching, full swing, and how to play the game on the course).

Test Fee $30
Thursday, April 24th from 4:15-7:15 pm, Friday, May 23rd from 4:15-7:15 pm

Friday, June 27th from 4:15-7:15 pm

Questions

How is your new program different than the old program?
Our new program sets specific and measurable goals to monitor your child's development through skills level testing.  Junior players will have the opportunity to progress through more advanced instruction, while being surrounded by other golfers of the same ages and ability levels.  With the organization of the Junior Development series, there is always a “next step” that your child can take in their journey through the game of golf.

How Do I enroll?

You can register online at Sportsmansgolf.com or come into the Anetsberger or Sportsman's Golf Shop.
